Our very own Dr. Oshidar and some of the staff members are taking the TLS 21 Day Challenge to start the New Year off right! Leading us in our efforts is holistic health counselor and TLS weight loss coach Bonnie Lynn Stanley, RDH.
As we know, the health of our body directly affects the health of our teeth and gums. The program helps jump start weight loss and is also great for reducing inflammation in the body, which improves oral and overall health.
At Roselle Park, we want to set a good example of clean eating and healthy living for our patients. At the start of the challenge, we revamped our staff lunch room by eliminating sugar and processed foods, and instead filled it with healthy options!
We welcome our patients and their family or friends to jump on the bandwagon with us! To learn more or sign-up, call us at 908-998-4696 or message us on Facebook!

Most dental insurance plan runs on a calendar year, so your benefits probably renewed on January 1. This means that your annual benefits maximum has been reset and you may be eligible again for a regular cleaning and exam as well.
If you used all of your dental benefits last year and had been holding off on scheduling dental work, now is the perfect time to schedule an appointment and start off the New Year with a healthy smile!
As always, please contact us at 908-998-4696 if you have any questions about your insurance coverage or benefits. We look forward to seeing you!

There are only 14 working days left to schedule an appointment before the end of the year. This will be your last chance to use your insurance benefits before they expire.
You’re probably paying a monthly premium to keep your insurance, so be sure to use it before 2015 is over.
Call the office at 908-998-4698 to reserve your appointment before it’s too late!
From all of us at Roselle Park Dental, have a happy holiday and new year.
Here’s to a great 2016!!!

Our 4th Annual Charity Day, which was held on November 20th, was a huge success!
Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., we were able to provide cleanings, fillings, extractions and x-rays for 42 patients!
We are so thankful for another wonderful Charity Day — it really is one of the best days of the year!
Dr. Oshidar and the team’s generosity were featured on NJ.com – check it out!

As a friendly reminder, if you have dental treatment you’ve put on hold, now may be a good time to schedule an appointment to maximize your insurance benefits.
Even if you don’t need extensive treatment, you should schedule a regular check up and cleaning appointment to help prevent costly procedures in the future. You’re probably paying a monthly premium to keep your insurance, so be sure to use it before the year end!
Now may also be a good time to use any remaining flexible account dollars. Flexible accounts are created to set aside pre-tax dollars for medical and dental expenses, but if that money is not used before the end of the year, it is lost to you forever.
Our holiday season does book quickly, so call us today at (908) 998-4698 to schedule your appointment. If you have any questions about your insurance coverage or benefits, we would be happy to help you. We look forward to seeing you!

This Halloween, let the kids enjoy the festivities without harboring guilt about all those sweet sugary treats they will be collecting. Check out our “tricks” for protecting your kids’ teeth without depriving them the fun of getting dressed up and going door-to-door for candy!
Trick-or-Treat … Not Trick-or-EAT
Before heading out today – explain to your little trick-or-treaters that they shouldn’t eat candy while on the go. To be safe, a responsible adult should inspect all collected goodies before any are consumed. This will also reduce the amount of treats the kids will eat, and allow everyone to enjoy the activity instead of bickering over what can and can’t be eaten. After you get home, designate a specific time each day – optimally following a meal or snack time – that one or two pieces of candy can be enjoyed.
Send a Sweet Message
Teaching your children the lesson of “everything in moderation” is an extremely important one, especially when it comes to sweets, since you don’t want to create a negative association. Halloween is a great time to enforce this idea, so once you get home go through their candy-cache along with the kids and let them pick a specific amount of items to keep and enjoy. Then, be sure to remove the rest of the candy quickly!
Choose wisely
Not all candy is created equal, especially when it comes to impacting oral health. The worst offenders are sugary treats that are either sticky or long-lasting, such as gummy bears and lollipops. Hard candies are doubly bad since they can also cause broken or chip teeth. Encourage your kids to remove these items from their baskets – or better yet not pick them up at all!
