If you are battling gum disease, gingivitis or periodontitis – you are not alone. Come join us at Roselle Park Dental in the fight against gum disease!
Inflammation caused by this disease puts patients at a greater risk of stroke, cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Gum disease can also worsen conditions such as COPD and may play a role in the contraction of pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema. Gum disease is very common, yet moderately preventable.
Prevention starts here! Prevention starts now! Routine professional cleanings and exams – in addition to routine flossing – are imperative in the prevention of gum disease. Developing a relationship with your hygienist and dentist is vital, not only for your oral health, but for your whole-body health as well.
If you do not have a dental home, join us here at Roselle Park Dental. Give our office a call at 908-998-4698 and set up your dental exam and cleaning today.

When I was a kid, we had a cat called Princes and a dog named Jerry. Now I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Her name is Lulu. In February, she will be two years old. I love her to death.
What is your favorite activity when you are not working?
I like to spend my time outdoors: hiking, biking, playing with my dog, jogging, and I also like to travel.
Why did you choose to become a dental professional?
Since I myself had issues with teeth in the past, I wanted to know more about them and oral health. So, now that I know more about all that, I want to share my knowledge with people. Oral health affects our overall health. So I want to help people to feel good not only about their teeth and smile, but also to become healthier. It is very rewarding to me to see positive changes.

There are a handful of available tooth replacement options out there, but is one as good as the next? Instead of just accepting the first treatment that you learn about, it’s important that you ask questions and do some deeper research into your choices. That way, you can be confident that you’ve settle on the route to a new smile that will deliver the greatest long-term benefits. Dental implants and bridges are two of the options you might consider. Your dentist in Roselle Park is here to provide a brief comparison of these smile-restoring treatments.
There are only 10 working days left to schedule an appointment before the end of the year. This will be your last chance to use your insurance benefits before they expire!
If you have dental treatment you’ve put on hold, now is a great time to schedule an appointment to maximize your insurance benefits. Even if you don’t need extensive treatment, you should schedule a regular checkup and cleaning appointment to help prevent costly procedures in the future.
You’re probably paying a monthly premium to keep your insurance, so be sure to use it before 2017 is over.
Now is also be a good time to use any remaining flexible account dollars. Flexible accounts are created to set aside pre-tax dollars for medical and dental expenses, but if the money is not used before the end of the year, it is lost to you forever.

Dr. Oshidar and Dr. Rodrigeuz attended another LANAP training last month in Cerritos California furthering their ongoing education about the only process that regenerates bone.
LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is the newest innovation in treating gum disease, allowing for the targeted removal of diseased periodontal tissue without removing any surrounding healthy tissue. After the laser is used to remove the infection, the dentist then makes a second pass to eliminate any remaining bacteria which then jumpstarts the regeneration process.
The use of LANAP boosts the growth of healthy replacement tissue, since it relies on True Regeneration – not resection – to restore oral health. Since the process is minimally invasive, the body can heal from the chronic infection faster than it can post-surgery.
There are several benefits to the LANAP vs. traditional surgery, including:
• Minimally invasive – no sutures or bone grafts are needed
• The gum height surrounding the affected area is preserved
• Decreased post-operative discomfort such as swelling, bleeding and sensitivity
• Less follow-up appointments are required
We are so excited to offer LANAP at Roselle Park Dental! Learn more on our Website or call us today to find out if LANAP is right for you.
